Dextrose Monohydrate and Anhydrous , organic compound, molecular formula C6H12O6. It is one of the most widely distributed and important monosaccharides in nature. It is a polyhydroxyl aldehyde. Pure glucose is colorless crystal, sweet but not as sweet as sucrose, soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether. The aqueous solution of natural glucose rotates light to the right, so it belongs to "dextrose".
